dbPSP (database of Phosphorylation Sites in Prokaryotes) is a comprehensive database, which includes phosphorylation sites on 7 types of residues from 96 organisms. In this database, we manunally collected experimental verified substrates and sites on serine (Pullen, Rajagopal, Branchini et al., 1995; Cozzone, 2005), tyrosine (Cozzone, Grangeasse, Doublet et al., 2004;Cozzone, 2005), threonine (Cozzone, 2005), asparate (Delgado, Forst, Harlocker, et al., 1993), histidine (Hess, Bourret, Simon, 1988), cysteine (Sun, Ding, Ji, et al., 2012), arginine (Elsholz, Turgay, Michalik, et al., 2012) phosphorylation. In total, the dbPSP database contains 7,391 phosphorylation sites in 3,750 proteins from 96 organisms.
